By accessing or using the UBC Course Monitor service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

UBC Course Monitor is a web-based service that helps University of British Columbia (UBC) students monitor course availability and receive notifications when seats become available. The Service includes:

• Automated monitoring of UBC course registration pages
• Notifications via Discord and email
• Course availability tracking and analytics
• User account and subscription management

3. User Accounts and Registration

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a current or prospective UBC student to use this Service. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Providing accurate and up-to-date account information

4. UBC Integration and Data Access

Compliance with UBC Policies

You agree to:

• Use the Service in accordance with UBC's terms of use and policies
• Not interfere with or disrupt UBC's systems
• Respect rate limits and fair usage policies
• Use monitoring data solely for your personal course registration decisions

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share Account Access: Allow others to use your account or credentials
• Automate Registration: Use our Service with automated course registration tools
• Circumvent Limits: Create multiple accounts to bypass subscription limits
• Reverse Engineer: Attempt to decode or reverse engineer our Service
• Commercial Use: Use the Service for commercial purposes without permission
• System Interference: Attempt to disrupt or overload our systems

6. Subscription and Billing

Payment Terms

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. You agree to pay all charges associated with your account. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Free Trial

We may offer free trials for paid plans. Trial periods will be clearly disclosed at signup. Your subscription will begin and billing will commence at the end of the trial period unless you cancel.

Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• We offer full refunds within 7 days of purchase
• Partial refunds may be provided at our discretion

7. Service Availability and Reliability

Service Level

While we strive for 99% uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to factors beyond our control.

No Guarantee of Course Registration

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software, design, text, graphics, and other content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
• Use our trademarks or branding without authorization
• Create derivative works based on our Service

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We provide the Service "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for missed course registration opportunities
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any unauthorized use of your account

12. Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Canceling your subscription from your account dashboard
• Contacting our support team
• Following account deletion procedures in your profile

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Fail to pay subscription fees
• Become subject to legal restrictions

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via:

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved through:

15. Severability
